What is Oolong tea or blue tea?
Blue tea or oolong tea is a type of tea that is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, just like the white tea , green tea , black tea and pu-erh tea , the difference is in how the tea is processed .
To understand the main difference between green tea, black tea and oolong tea, we first need to explain what tea oxidation means.
When we talk about oxidation, we are talking about a chemical reaction that begins when the leaves are exposed to air and is responsible for the color and flavor of different types of tea.
While green tea is produced from fresh tea leaves that have not undergone oxidation , black tea is created when the leaves are completely broken to increase oxidation , oolong tea is somewhere in the middle of both processes, the leaves are withered in the sun and lightly bruised to create partial oxidation.
